Hole in One

Elizabeth, 03215

Yesterday, I literally got a hole in one! It was an astonishing achievement marked by the signed dated flag from the 9th hole.

The unprecedented pandemic in 2021 changed the trajectory of my life swiftly, profoundly and not without my share of lost shots on and off the golf course. Like so many of us, I felt isolated from my family, friends and colleagues, overwhelmed and powerless. Until one faith filled day, my spouse and I working on self-care started a new daily routine consisting of heading to the golf course at the end of long remote workday. On this day, the roman poet Horace phrase “carpe diem” took on a whole new meaning. We made it our mantra “seize the day” from that day forward and never looked back.

My 9th hole, hole in one, I’ve come to realize, wasn’t my first as you see there have been many – born and raised in Manchester New Hampshire – hole in one! Now residing in the white mountains of New Hampshire – hole in one! Working for the citizens of New Hampshire – hole in one! Nurturing relationships with family, friends and colleagues – hole in one! Building new relationships – hole in one! Trying new things, hole in one! Playing golf as often as possible – hole in one! My wish to you and yours are for an abundance of holes in one if in your lives or on the golf course.
